It’s been a good week for Perth indie favourites Spacey Jane. Last Saturday, they landed a handuful of tracks in triple j’s Hottest 100 — including snagging the number two spot with their gripping ‘Booster Seat’.

To complete the victory lap, they dropped by Perth’s ABC studios to lay down their Like A Version: a cover of The Beatles’ beloved ‘Here Comes The Sun’. It’s a pretty perfect choice for the band really — jangly, bright, uplifting.

They stick bang on the original arrangement — as frontman Caleb Harper explained in the accompanying interview with the band, it “doesn’t take much dressing up to make it work”.

“We chose this song because, at its core, it’s just a really beautiful song,” said frontman Caleb Harper. “My mum listens to Guy Sebastian mostly, so I had to figure out they were a great band through my friends.”

Watch the cover belong — along with their performance of ‘Booster Seat’. They’ll be playing a couple of shows in the coming months (gigs…what??) — including at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl as part of the Summer Sounds series.
