Watch Skrillex Perform With His Old Heavy Band, From First To Last
He's still got it.
Long before Skrillex was one of the world’s most successful producers and label owners, he was a quiet lad called Sonny Moore, lead singer of LA hardcore outfit From First To Last.
Moore left the band in 2007 to focus on Skrillex full time, but every now and then he’ll link up with his old bandmates to tear through their back catalogue.
Over the weekend, for the first time in two years, he joined them on stage for a brief set at the afterparty of New Orleans’ BUKU Music Festival. Thankfully, a fan was on hand to catch a good chunk of the set on film — get stuck into it below. Just a warning, there’s a fair amount of strobe involved.
It wasn’t the first Skrillex reunion of BUKU Festival either: he teamed up with his Dog Blood duo partner Boys Noize for a headlining set. They’ve got a couple more dates up their sleeves, including at Ultra Miami and Sunset Music Festival, and party starters Brownies & Lemonade confirmed the duo have new music on the way. No word yet on that bloody Jack Ü reunion though.
