If Seth Rogen is known for anything beyond being a great actor, it’s his love for weed.

The actor has been very vocal about his relationship with weed throughout his career, even creating stoner comedies like Pineapple Express to show it. But in recent years, Rogen has slowed down on the acting gigs, and has instead focused his attention on other ventures.

While Rogen appeared to just be preoccupied with his latest obsession of making pottery and schooling racists, it turns out he’s actually been secretly working on something major in the background over the last decade: making his own damn weed company.

In a video posted to social media this morning, Seth Rogen announced his “life’s work”, a cannabis and lifestyle brand founded with long-time collaborator Evan Goldberg, called Houseplant.

“Hi, I’m Seth Rogen. And if you know anything about me at all is that I really love weed,” he gleefully started his video. “But what you probably don’t know about me is that I’ve been working on my own weed company for the last 10 years and we’re finally ready to launch in America.”

“It’s called Houseplant… and we’re bringing you the best strains of weed that have been hand-picked, and by that I mean, hand-smoked by me,” he continued.

“This is just the beginning. This is honestly my life’s work, and I’ve never been more excited about anything.”

In the clip, Rogen also shared that not only was Houseplant selling high-quality weed in stackable, brightly-coloured tins, but that the company would also be flinging cannabis-friendly house goods, too.

For example, a lighter-ashtray hybrid that looks like a paperweight, along with ceramics that have yet to be revealed (which helps explains Rogen’s current obsession with making vases).

Along with the weed and house goods, Rogen also revealed that he and his team had made vinyl record mixtapes to go along with each strain, like Houseplant’s 33 percent sativa called Pancake Ice, named after the weather system just like was done with Pineapple Express.

But while the release of Houseplant is very exciting, all everyone could really focus on one during the announcement video was one thing — just how happy Seth Rogen seemed to be.

To watch someone genuinely love something so much and put a decade’s worth of work into turning it into a business is a real joy to see. So people are very keen to support our king Seth Rogen by smoking as much weed as possible.

Plus, how can anyone not give props for Rogen’s impressive career-long marketing campaign? Iconic.
