An Extended Version Of The ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ Soundtrack Is Finally Being Released
And yes, it includes Brie Larson's version of 'Black Sheep'.
An extended version of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World soundtrack is officially set to arrive this July, and yes, it will finally feature Brie Larson’s version of ‘Black Sheep’.
Based on the series of comics, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is only 10 years old, but is already considered a cult classic. Last year, the beloved film’s 10th anniversary was marked — as many things were in 2020 — by a celebration on Zoom. The cast, including Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, reunited for a script readthrough of the movie’s most iconic moments.

Now, director Edgar Wright has announced the release of an expanded version of Scott Pilgrim’s soundtrack.
In an Instagram post, Wright wrote: “On July 9th, the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Expanded Edition) will be available on all digital music services. The expanded soundtrack includes demos from Beck and more music from the movie including Brie Larson’s performance of the @metric classic “Black Sheep”- stream it now!”
Brie Larson, in character as Envy Adams, sings the cover of Metric’s ‘Black Sheep’ track that features in the film. The track has long been requested for official release by fans, as the track that was featured on the original soundtrack was the official version sung by Metric vocalist Emily Haines.
After a decade, Larson’s version is finally here and it is indeed streaming now.

The soundtrack will also include demos of songs from the film and unreleased tracks from Beck, who inspired and wrote the music for Scott Pilgrim’s fictional band, Sex Bob-Omb, in collaboration with Brian LeBarton.
Despite bombing at the box office, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World retains its status as one of Edgar Wright’s most adored and well-known projects. This is in no small part due to the film’s uniquely chaotic, genre-blending soundtrack, and I cannot wait to hear it all again in its expanded glory!
