If there’s one thing we’ve all been awaiting with bated breath, it’s the new season of Schitt’s Creek. If there are two things, it’s Schitt’s Creek and the third instalment of The Crows Have Eyes films– The Crowening.

If there’s three things we’re waiting for, that’s too many things! Calm down.

Fans of Schitt’s Creek will undoubtedly know exactly what we’re talking about when we say in hushed tones “the crows have eyes”. It’s Moira Rose’s long awaited, slightly embattled film franchise, in which she plays a scientist named Dr Clara Mandrake, who inadvertently brings about some kind of crow-based apocalypse. Probably. It’s hard to keep track.

The running plotline/ gag puts Catherine O’Hara, the comedy mastermind behind Moira Rose, into some of her most absurd moments. It’s truly glorious to watch, and we just have to love the fact that the show is willing to lean so hard into something so delightfully stupid. It’s sometimes easy to forget, amongst the heartwarming moments, amongst the buttery voiced declarations of love, that this is a show devoted to the absurd.

But this is a swift reminder.

“The crows have eyes,” the narrator says, “and you better not look them in it.”

Watch this now, and enjoy — the US is currently airing episodes of the sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek, but because Australia is a garbage-hole, we aren’t.
