At Christmas time, some things are just meant to go together. I’m talking ham and cheap ‘champagne’, white Australian mums and Chang’s crispy noodle salad, and now — in what can only be described as the ultimate yuletide mash-up of our time — Schitt’s Creek and Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’.

Calum Shanlin worked on Schitt’s Creek as a digital producer and also managed the show’s social media accounts. He is also the creator of this genuinely great ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ mash-up. “I’d always wanted to try re-creating a song using dialogue from the show. With the time of year, it seemed like the perfect time to do it,” he told Junkee.

If you only do one truly festive thing this year, please let it be watching Moira Rose replace Mariah Carey.

And this isn’t the first time Calum has remixed Schitt’s Creek. He’s also mashed-up scenes from the show with the intro of The Office.

And everyone’s favourite — but also, least favourite — sitcom, Friends.

And has even gone so far as throwing things all the way back to The Golden Girls era of television.

Even in the year 2020, we have a lot to be thankful for.
