Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a brand new trailer that features a banger from Sampa the Great.

Get your tissues ready because Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is almost here and the new trailer already has me in tears. Set after the death of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), the new trailer shows Shuri (Letitia Wright) holding the iconic Black Panther mask during a funeral procession while her mother, Ramonda (Angela Bassett) holds her hand.

We also get a better look at the sequel’s wing-footed Atlantian antagonist, Namor (Tenoch Huerta). There’s also a brief glimpse at an updated Black Panther suit. However, the wearer is still being kept a compelling mystery.

There are also some fresh looks at Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, aka Iron Heart. What happens when you combine the best of Stark tech with Wakandan innovation? Guess we’ll find out soon!

But the biggest surprise from the film’s new trailer is its backing track from the legendary Sampa the Great. The trailer uses the track, ‘Never Forget’ from her 2022 album, As Above, So Below.

The track, which features Zambian chanting and traditional rhythms, was a collaboration with Chef 187, Tio Nason, and Mwanjé. The Wakanda Forever trailer makes epic use of the ‘Never Forget’s outro to soundtrack the re-introduction of Shuri, Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Queen Ramonda.

As for Sampa the Great herself? The proud Zambian rapper was clearly stoked, tweeting her awe this morning: “Can you imagine!” she wrote.

“Me … A non-Billboard charting-ass, no huge awards having-ass, non-viral video-ass, no sold-out arena tour having-ass independent artist whose song is on a Black Panther Trailer! This how God works. Thankful!!”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is opening in cinemas in November. You can watch the new trailer, featuring Sampa the Great’s incredible track below.
