We’ve got the trifecta — Harry Potter, Hermione, and now Ron himself have all strongly voiced their support for the trans community, in light of Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling’s repeated and baffling transphobia.

Weasley is our king!

The actor who plays Ron Weasley, Rupert Grint (Or “Ralph” as one famous transphobe recently accidentally called him), joined his cast mates in supporting the trans community, in a recent statement.

“I firmly stand with the trans community and echo the sentiments expressed by many of my peers,” he said in a statement to The Times.

“Trans women are women. Trans men are men. We should all be entitled to live with love and without judgement.”

Yep, come through, Ralph.

Grint’s statement comes only a few days after Rowling published a long essay, which hits the majority of TERF (trans exclusionary reactionary feminists) talking points. We won’t bother to publicise any of the thoroughly debunked arguments, but we will point towards this article on Forbes which systematically goes through each of her points and destroys them.

Grint’s statement follows the lead of Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, as well as star of the Fantastic Beasts series, Eddie Redmayne.

All these statements are doing good work, and can hopefully undo some of the extremely harmful effects that come from the world’s most popular children’s author using her platform to attack trans youth, a portion of her audience who are highly at risk.
