The RSPCA Is Offering A Massive Discount On Adoptions This Weekend

$29 for a forever friend? We're no economists, but that's quite the ROI.

Across Australia, the RSPCA is currently looking after a heap of animals: year in, year out, the earliest months prove all-too popular as people have to give up their Christmas presents, realising they can’t commit to keeping a pet.

As a way to galvanise the masses — and help you find your new best friend — this weekend the RSCPA are lowering their adoption fees, which can hit up to $600, to just $29.

We’re no economists, but that’s quite the ROI. It’s part of ‘Clean The Shelters’, a weekend-long event designed to get the RSPCA’s loveable dogs, cats, horses, birds, guinea pigs and everything else out the door. And yes, that includes Charlie, the heterochromia cattle dog puppy pictured above.

They’re expecting things to get pretty busy, so it’s best to pre-register and research online — they have a database of all their animals, so you can find your forever friend online.

Registering doesn’t guarantee adoption: it remains first in, best dressed (pending checks, of course), but it will speed things up, and allow you to spend more time with your potential pet.

Clean The Shelters is on from Friday 21 through to Sunday 23 February, across RSCPAs in NSW, WA, Victoria and Queensland. Sign up here.
