Dumbasses Are Angry That Tom Morello, Famous Political Musician, Is Getting Political Now

"What music of mine were you a fan of that DIDN’T contain “political BS”? I need to know so I can delete it from the catalogue."

Tom Morello, the guitarist for Rage Against The Machine, makes political music.

Everybody knows that. If the very band name Rage Against The Machine doesn’t give away the game, then their biggest hits will. ‘Killing in the Name of’ is a fiery takedown of the American police force that famously has a chorus about the overlap between cops and KKK members.

‘Bulls on Parade’ has a whole verse about “weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes” and the “cannibal animal” of the American war machine. Even their album covers thrum with a rage and a rebellion that is wholly political in nature.

It would be surprising if you were a Rage Against The Machine fan who had somehow missed all that, a little like being a Beach Boys fan and not realising they liked to surf sometimes. But hey, there are such dullards out there, and they’re taking out their anger on Tom Morello for his “newfound” political statements.

See, over the last few weeks, Morello has been a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement on his socials. As a result, he’s been flooded with comments by “fans” who hate that he’s “suddenly” getting into political causes.

Take, for instance, “Scott Castaneda”, a RATM fan and possible troll who bemoaned Morello’s “political bs.”

Morello’s not letting these dickheads go, either, taking to his Twitter to call them out.

This has been going on over on Morello’s Instagram too, and he has been just as no-nonsense there. When an agitator suggested to the guitarist that he was just another “succesful [sic] musician instantly becoming a political expert,” Morello clapped back hard.

“One does not have to be an honours grad in political science from Harvard University to recognise the unethical and inhumane nature of this administration, but, well, I happen to be an honours grad in political science from Harvard University so I can confirm that for you.”

What would we do without this man?
