What’s the POINT of Pokemon, if not to battle them against others? Luckily, we’ve got Pokemon Masters coming to our phones to let us FINALLY do this properly. Huge, epic battles. Finally.

The whole premise of Pokémon Masters is to grab alllll the famous Pokemon trainers throughout the franchise, and let you battle other people in teams. It’s a big old all star team battle!

Team battles are done by by partnering trainers with a single Pokemon, and then creating a Sync Pair. With that pair, you travel the new Pasio region and team up with other Syncs Pairs for three-on-three real-time battles.

The iOS and Android game is being developed in collaboration with DeNA (the studio responsible for Mario Kart Tour).

You’ll be able to download and play Pokemon Masters for free, but it will definitely have micro-transactions in it. No word yet on specific release date!
