The two worst people you know just met up to complain about cancel culture.

With devastating flooding in Queensland and Northern NSW, war in Ukraine, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and an upcoming election, it’s an extremely busy time to be the Prime Minister.

But it appears Scott Morrison hasn’t got the memo because he somehow managed to find 45 minutes to spare to sit down with giant pissbaby Piers Morgan. Morgan took to Twitter to share a photo of him shaking hands with Morrison, noting that the pair chatted for 45 minutes at his office last week.

Just two guys being dudes, honestly.

Throughout the chat, the pair discussed many things including Ukraine and China — with Morgan later clarifying that the conversation took place “before Russia invaded.”

But in addition to the usual political stuff, the pair reportedly also discussed things like cancel culture — of which Morrison is apparently not a fan — and cricket.

It’s unclear what the meeting was for, or if we’ll see the conversation broadcast as part of Morgan’s new TV show — which is set to air on Sky News. Morgan’s new gig in Australia comes after he sensationally quit Good Morning Britain with an on-air dummy spit after being accused of being obsessed with Meghan Markle.

Considering the conversation occurred prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, any interview that may have been recorded will have fleeting relevance if it is eventually put to air — with the entire political conversation having shifted so rapidly in the last week.

There’s also a chance that the meeting wasn’t an interview, and could’ve just been a private meeting, although, this also seems like a colossal waste of time, given everything that is going on in the world right now.

However, it is worth noting that — shockingly — this isn’t the worst use of Morrison’s time we’ve seen in recent weeks, with the PM making a point to emphasise his skills as a ukulele player, a hairdresser and a welder ahead of the upcoming election. You know, in case he needs a career pivot if the whole “politics” thing doesn’t work out.

The meeting comes as Morrison and the Coalition continue to trail behind Labor in pre-election polls.
