It was only a matter of time until Phoebe Bridgers, beloved indie songwriter, linked up with her almost namesake, indie director and producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

That time has finally come to pass — today Bridgers revealed the official music video for her track ‘Savior Complex’, directed by none other than Waller-Bridge.

And, as a special treat, the video also stars heartthrob Paul Mescal, who you might know as the small chain-wearing and small talking lead in the TV adaptation of Normal People. It also features a tiny, phone-stealing dog who befriends Mescal, therefore gifting us the sight of Mescal in a cosy jumper cuddling a tiny animal.

The video is, at the time of writing, only viewable on Bridgers’ Facebook — watch it here.

The ‘Savior Complex’ video is the latest material to emerge from her stunning 2020 album Punisher, which spawned singles like ‘Kyoto’ and ‘I Know The End’. Recently, after making a public bet on Twitter, she released a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris’ in collaboration with Maggie Rogers. She also just dropped a cover of the Christmas song ‘If We Make It Through December‘ — watch it below.
