Someone Stole One Of Peter Dutton’s Election Signs And He’s Extremely Mad About It
He reckons GetUp and Labor are to blame.
A bandit has made off with an A-frame sign with Peter Dutton’s face on it, and boy oh boy is he mad about it.
The Home Affairs Minister and Member for Dickson in Queensland posted on Facebook about the alleged theft on Saturday morning.
“The dirty tricks from GetUp and the Labor party have already started with the theft of an a frame election sign this morning from a 78 year old lady volunteering her time to support me,” Dutton wrote. He also posted a photo of the culprit fleeing the scene with sign in tow.
It’s not immediately clear why Dutton thinks the Labor Party and/or GetUp! are to blame for the crime. A spokesperson for GetUp! told Junkee that their members “would never stoop to doing something like this”.
“Why would we need to when they’re beating Dutton on the ground?” they added.
Junkee has contacted Dutton’s office for comment.
Dutton holds the seat of Dickson by just 2%. He was recently identified by GetUp! activists as the number one target in its campaign to get hard-right politicians voted out of parliament at the upcoming federal election.
