A Twitter account making fun of former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has hung up its hat after their muse lost the federal election over the weekend.

‘Scott Morrison PM of Australia (parody)’ shouted out their tens of thousands of followers and announced it was time to say adieu soon after Anthony Albanese was confirmed as prime minister on Saturday night.

It came after a solid live-tweeting sesh of the race on the night, including gems such as “Just called Mr Albanese to tell him it won’t be easy under himself”, “Can’t Jenny [concede?]”, and “YOU CANT SACK ME BECAUSE I QUIT … Anyway I changed the locks at Kirribilli yesterday”.

The anonymous account was first started seven months after the outgoing PM was elected in December 2019. Their targets of choice — apart from skewing Morrion’s general incompetence — include ScoMo’s handling of natural disasters, Australia’s shortage of rapid antigen tests at the end of last year, women’s safety concerns in Parliament, and various diplomatic spats with France, Russia, and the United States. Naturally, his wife Jenny was also regularly referenced as a key advisor.

“Tonight, I have spoken to the leader of the opposition and the incoming prime minister, Anthony Albanese, and I have congratulated him on his election victory this evening,” said the real Scott Morrison on Saturday night.

“I’ve always believed in Australians and their judgment and I’ve always been prepared to accept their verdicts and tonight they have delivered their verdict, and I congratulate Anthony Albanese and the Labor Party, and I wish him and his government all the very best.”

Here are some of the best moments during the tenure of @ScottyFromMktg. Vale shitposting king.
