The world has changed a lot since Orange Is The New Black first hit our small screens.

After all, the first season dropped in full way back in 2013, when even the idea of dropping a series in full was strange and newsworthy. Barack Obama was still the President, climate change was only just starting to make itself known, Britain was still part of the European Union, and Netflix was a scrappy little player in the entertainment field rather than a globally dominant streaming behemoth.

Indeed, Orange Is The New Blacwas one of the shows that helped Netflix become what it is today. It was one of the platform’s first surefire hits — proof that a streaming service could cut into the content creation market itself.

Within a few years of airing, Orange Is The New Black became the biggest show in Netflix history, and it has launched the careers of several of its stars, must notably Ruby Rose, who made headlines for being absolutely everyone’s crush when she first appeared on the show way back in season three.

But all good things must come to an end, and not even Orange Is The New Blaccan last forever. Now, Netflix has confirmed that the show will wrap up with its seventh season, dropping in full on July 26.

Plot details are pretty tight, though Netflix has released an official synopsis. “Taystee’s friendship with Cindy still hangs in the balance as her life sentence looms, Gloria and her kitchen staff are confronted by the hard truth of Polycon’s newest profit stream, while others chase drugs or dreams and grapple with the reality of their place in this world,” says the statement from Netflix.

Not much to go on, I know, but at least we do have this video of the series’ cast singing farewell, which is unrepentantly beautiful.
