Taylor Swift’s new album dropped this afternoon and while we’ll hold off a little longer before passing judgement, there is one track on Reputation that stands out as immediately good: ‘New Year’s Day’.

The album’s closing track doesn’t have any of the bullshit that have made her Reputation singles thus far a nails-on-the-chalkboard experience — there’s no bad rapping, no petty digs at the Kim Kardashian/Kanye West drama, no baby voice intros — it’s just a classic, sappy Swift love song. Looks like the old Taylor isn’t completely dead, after all.

In a listening party for 100 of her biggest fans — held in the living room of Swift’s Rhode Island home — the popstar played ‘New Year’s Day’ live on the piano. American TV network ABC were on hand to film the performance and, well, it’s a whole lot better than the ‘Ready For It’ video.

If you were hoping to spend this weekend streaming Reputation, we’ve got some bad news — it won’t actually be on the likes of Spotify for another week, as part of Team Swift’s plan to try and get fans to actually buy the album in stores or on iTunes.

Watch Swift play ‘New Year’s Day’ below. It’s actually really nice.
