Sure Looks Like My Chemical Romance Are Dropping New Music Very Soon
Sure looks like an album is on the horizon.
For years, the idea of a My Chemical Romance reunion seemed like a far-off dream, the kind of doomed fantasy it wasn’t very healthy to hold onto.
Then, late last year, came the surprising announcement: My Chemical Romance were back to play a series of shows around the States and in Australia and New Zealand.
Still, it wasn’t clear from that initial news whether we should expect a flash-in-the-pan series of reunion shows, or if the band were properly back together. Now, more and more hints are pointing to the latter option.
Yep, sure looks like new My Chemical Romance songs are forthcoming.
The biggest hint in that direction is a short clip posted to the band’s YouTube, titled ‘An Offering’.
A two-minute long video featuring hooded and masked figures drawing a pentagram in the middle of a forest, the clip is scored by an acoustic, wordless backing track that sure sounds like it could be an intro to a full-length MCR album.
Hell, even the video’s title and aesthetic point towards something special forthcoming. Imagery of invocation fits with the idea that this is just the start of something huge.
Fingers firmly crossed.
