Apple has unveiled the official trailer for their new show Morning Wars, a drama starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell, and it looks damn compelling. You gotta assume there’s gonna be some laughs, as all three of them are some of the finest comedic actors in the world, but go off I guess.
I cannot tell you how excited I am for a Jennifer Aniston-aissance, in the sense that I just love her and think she’s really great. I hope she has a lot of fun in this!
Executive produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, Morning Wars is about the high-stakes world of US breakfast television and news, starting off with the very topical cancellation of Steve Carell’s character.
I specify that it’s about US morning news shows, which I can only imagine are a much different world than Aussie breakfast TV, which is best described as a problematic swamp fire that has been raging uncontrollably for years in a weird corner of our cultural consciousness.
The cast also includes Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Desean K. Terry, Jack Davenport and Janina Gavankar.
Morning Wars will debut this spring exclusively on Apple TV+, Apple’s new streaming service, billed as “Apple’s original video subscription service, featuring a brand new slate of programming from the world’s most celebrated creative artist.”
