Spotify Australia has called out Victorian Liberal MP Michael O’Brien for the absolute worst Spotify Wrapped meme of all time, and you truly just love to see it.

Michael O’Brien took to Twitter on Thursday to share this absolute abomination of a meme, giving us a “Wrapped” version of Daniel Andrews’ year in politics, apparently.

“2021 Spotify Wrapped playlists often tell you a lot about your year. Daniel Andrews really went hard on his this year…” he tweeted alongside an extremely dumb version of a Spotify Wrapped infographic.

The infographic included 262 days locked down, and Andrews’ top genre of music as “arrogance”.

Wondering what his top song was? If you guessed Mash’d N Kutcher’s Get On The Beers, you’d be sorely mistaken because it was apparently Lockdown Laws, which I can only assume is the followup to Kanye West’s Love Lockdown.

Honestly, O’Brien missed some big opportunities here. He could’ve easily used real songs and artists that fit his narrative like Oops!… I Did It Again, Love Lockdown, Locked Out Of Heaven — the list goes on.

But instead of using a shred of actual humour, O’Brien simply listed political parties and random digs at Andrews, resulting in quite possibly the worst meme since that weird video of Matt Canavan as the Terminator.

As if anyone could mistake this abomination for the graphic design masterpiece that is the real Spotify Wrapped, the streaming giant quickly fact-checked O’Brien’s post, noting that it’s not real.

“Just in case it needs to be clarified for anyone. This is not Spotify data,” Spotify replied, quickly amassing significantly more likes than the original tweet.

As you’d expect, Victorians were quick to call out the post.

“Old mate spent more time thinking up this meme than his party did contributing constructively to the pandemic legislation,” one person replied.

“Major Australian political parties just can’t meme,” another added.

But despite the backlash, O’Brien hasn’t bothered to delete the post. Michael, if you’re reading this, there’s still time!
