May We Direct Your Attention To This Footage Of Bob Katter Dancing To ‘Gangnam Style’ In A Club

Honestly, this is one of the least weird things to happen in Australian politics recently.

Today is not a good day for Bob Katter, what with being torn to bits by one of Australia’s most successful comedians about his archaic and weird views on homosexuality live on national television and all. No doubt he’s sitting at home, quietly licking his wounds — unless he’s shaking out all these bad vibes by hitting a crusty dancefloor in Queensland somewhere and bumping to ‘Gangnam Style’ with a bunch of high-school kids like someone’s tipsy dad at a Year Twelve formal.

We don’t have any context for this video — it was uploaded onto YouTube in April last year, and sent in to us by kindly reader Gotham Pillai — but even if we had some I doubt we’d provide it. It needs to stand on its own, as a reminder of a long-lost time when Bob Katter was everyone’s lovably crazy uncle and not everyone’s weird bigoted uncle. Simpler times, Bob. Simpler times.
