Former Labor leader Mark Latham has joined Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, because of course he has.

Latham joined Hanson on Sydney radio Wednesday morning where he confirmed the news to an enthusiastic Alan Jones. He will head the party in NSW, running for the state’s Legislative Council.

Asked what inspired him to reenter politics, Latham highlighted issues including immigration, congestion and power prices, as well as concerns about “political correctness” and “divisive identity politics”.

“This is a fight for our civilisational values … all of them under siege from the left,” he declared. He also got very worked up about the discrimination supposedly faced by “Christians, white people, men and boys”.

Hanson, for her part, said she was “so proud to have Mark on board”, adding that he would be “so beneficial for the people of NSW”.

Latham previously threw his lot in with the Liberal Democrats, but quit the party back in September. He has spent the past few years being angry on the internet. Here’s a video of him falling off a chair, it’s very funny.
