Please Enjoy Mallrat Hopping Onto Mark Ronson’s Livestream To Eat Noodles And Sing ‘Charlie’
Mallrat outshone celebrities like Lykke Li and Miley Cyrus.
There’s no stopping Mallrat.
A few short months ago, ‘Charlie’, the young singer’s breakout hit, came third in the Hottest 100 of 2019. But rather than rest on her laurels, the young Australian performer has moved from strength to strength, today appearing as a guest on Mark Ronson’s much-watched ‘Love Lockdown’ livestream.
Described by Ronson as a “video mixtape”, the event saw 27 of the most notable musicians on the planet join the music industry titan as he DJ’d his way through hit after hit. Everyone from Lykke Li to Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill got involved, with the whole thing gradually devolving into a bonkers celebration of love, art, and music.
But the real surprise was saved until right at the end, when Mallrat herself popped up to sing ‘Charlie’ while chowing down on a bowl of instant noodles. Basically, it was about as relatable as these big, star-studded events get — a much-needed moment of humanity in amongst a giant dose of celebrity.
Understandably, the internet went wild for it, and for the livestream on the whole.
Thank you for music
