Major Lazer’s New Track ‘Blow That Smoke’ Is Their Best Single In Years
Their best since 'Cold Water'?
Major Lazer may be calling it quits in 2019, but there’s still plenty of music to be released before they hang up their synths.
Today the trio dropped their new single ‘Blow That Smoke’, featuring Swedish vocalist and ‘Habits’ hitmaker Tove Lo. And if you were wishing for a return to their mega pop heyday of ‘Lean On’ and ‘Cold Water’, this is it.
While it’s not an all out banger like either of those two, ‘Blow That Smoke’ is still their most solid bop in years. Listen to it below.
Major Lazer frontman Diplo casually revealed in a recent interview with Complex that Lazer’s 2019 album will be their last — the reason being that he’s too busy with other projects such as Silk City (with Mark Ronson) and LSD (with Sia and Labrinth.)
“[Our next album will have] a bunch of stuff you haven’t heard [over] the last ten years,” he told Complex. “Next year marks our last album, so we got a lot of stuff in between now and then.”
Silk City dropped their latest single ‘Electricity’ a month back, featuring vocalist Dua Lipa, while LSD has thrown out a heap of new tracks this year, including the crazy good ‘Genius’ and ‘Audio’.
