Pizza and beer is usually such a great combination, too.

Macaulay Culkin’s run of appearances in completely bizarre headlines continued yesterday when his band, Pizza Underground, were driven offstage at Nottingham’s Dot to Dot festival.

Firstly, yes, Macaulay Culkin has a band. And not just any band — a pizza-themed Velvet Underground covers band. Junkee broke this normal and unsurprising bit of news back in December, when a demo and a concert video surfaced. Their songs include ‘I’m Waiting For Delivery Man’, ‘All The Pizza Parties’, and my favourite, ‘Take A Bite Of The Wild Slice’ (technically a Lou Reed song, but hey, anarchy).

English fans didn’t exactly take to their comedy stylings, though, with the crowd starting to boo and hurl pints after only one song. When the crowd landed a couple of direct hits on Culkin and his pizza box-playing bandmate, they decided to pack it in.
Here’s a video of their first concert. Our description of ‘dirty Brooklyn hipsters dripping irony’ was accurate then, and it’s accurate now.
