In news that’s equally heart-warming and outrageous in that it did not happen to me personally, actual music god and wonderful human being Lorde has asked her smoothie cashier, Ayesha Mangú, to this weekend’s NYC Governors Ball music festival.

While asking your cashier/barista/waiter/bartender to anything is almost always a terrible idea and a huge imposition on someone whose actual job it is to be nice to you, Lorde gets a pass on this because a) she’s only in New York for the music fest and wasn’t going to be a creep about it b) she is goddamn Lorde and can do whatever the hell she wants.

Confirming her entire ‘one of us’ persona, Lorde also only sent the invite to Ayesha, who on top of everything is getting a new job, via Twitter because she got shy.

This follows their IRL meeting at smoothie bar Liquiteria on Monday, in an incredibly cute vid the cashier had posted prior to getting asked out by Lorde holy crap.

In other Lorde news, the singer will drop her newest single from her forthcoming album Melodrama on Friday.
