It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact moment that Liam Neeson became a parody of himself. Was it the second Taken movie? The third? Maybe it was that movie that was like Taken on a plane? Or that one where he punched those wolves? In any case, it happened, and now the man who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Oskar Schindler is playing a snowplow driver hunting down the drug cartel that murdered his son. And I for one am very, very excited.

Described in an early synopsis as “a high-octane, action revenge thriller”, Hard Powder stars Neeson as Nels Coxman, “a quiet family man and hard-working snowplow driver” who is forced to abandon “his quiet mountain life when his son is murdered by a powerful drug lord”.

“As a man who has nothing to lose he is stoked by a drive for vengeance… this unlikely hero uses his hunting skills and transforms from an ordinary man into a skilled killer.”

I swear I am not making this up. Not even the name Nels Coxman.

News of Neeson’s latest role has spread quickly across the internet, and while we still haven’t gotten a trailer or even a poster, people are already having fun with the concept.

Hard Powder is set to hit cinemas in 2019.
