Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Are Reportedly Getting Divorced
The couple have been married for six years and have four children together.
Mega-star rapper Kanye West and reality TV titan Kim Kardashian are getting a divorce, a number of outlets including PageSix and The New York Post have reported.
West and Kardashian had been friends for years when they became a couple in 2012. The pair were engaged a year later, and married the year after that.
Particularly in the early days of the relationship, Kim Kardashian became an integral part of the West brand — she featured heavily in the much written about video for ‘Bound 2’, for instance.
However, rumours of the pair’s potential divorce have been circulating for months now. Some outlets reported that West had not returned to his LA home over the Christmas period, instead remaining in Wyoming, where he is building a wellness retreat-cum-spiritual home.
Even more damning still, in July of this year, West tweeted that he had been attempting to divorce Kardashian for “two years”, and that he was being “locked up” by his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner.
The couple have not yet released an official statement about the divorce — at this stage, news of the split comes from “unnamed sources”. We’ll update this story when more information surfaces.
**UPDATE***
TMZ has now reported that the divorce is not official. According to more “unnamed sources”, the pair have been in counselling for a while. Again, full certainty will only come when either West or Kardashian release a statement themselves.
