Kelly Rowland Performed At The Logies Last Night And It Was Very Confusing
"I believe she had some sort of stage invader behind her that was screaming and ruining the song."
Last night, the who’s-who and who-the-fuck-is-that of Australian television gathered on the Gold Coast for the annual TV Week Logie Awards.
Grant Denyer, the cherubic former host of Family Feud, trolled his way to a Gold Logie, while Foxtel’s Wentworth cleaned up with wins for Most Popular Drama and Outstanding Actress for Pamela Rabe.
But of course, it wouldn’t be the Logies without a few moments of eyebrow-raising awkwardness — one of which was provided by Kelly Rowland and The Voice winner Sam Perry’s clanger of a performance.

Rowland (who was Perry’s mentor on the show) brought the vocal loop artist on stage to help her out with Destiny’s Child hit ‘Survivor’ and her David Guetta collab ‘When Love Takes Over’.
But, given Perry’s slightly outlandish style — he looped his voice into yelps and shouted intermittently while Rowland sang — it, uhh, didn’t go down so well:
From playing Coachella to singing at the Logies with someone shouting behind her … a big year for Kelly Rowland #TVWeekLogies

I’m a Kelly Rowland stan but that performance was a mess and she needs to now stop trying to make Sam Perry happen as lovely as he is. #Logies #Logies2018

#TVWeekLogies can we let Kelly Rowland sing “When Love Takes over” again ? I believe she had some sort of stage invader behind her that was screaming and ruining the song #Logies

Was something wrong with Kelly’s mic, or was that a train wreck for another reason?? #Logies

The music performances picked up a bit later in the night, with English popstar Jess Glynne belting through her latest single ‘I’ll Be There’ and her Rudimental collab ‘These Days’.
