The Best And Funniest Reactions To Kanye Announcing He’s Running For President
"It’s 2024, president Kanye convenes a special cabinet with Secretary of Health Pete Evans, Defense Secretary Elon Musk, and Special Secretary of State Novak Djokovic."
If you have any squares left on your 2020 bingo card — let’s be real, the card is now a singed piece of scrap paper — scratch this one off: Kanye West has announced he’s running for President.
“We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” Kanye wrote on Twitter yesterday. “I am running for president of the United States.”
It’s not the first time we’ve heard this plan, but Kanye had previously flagged he’d be aiming for the 2024 race, not 2020. For whatever reason, he’s brought forward his run.
The reactions were, ahem, mixed. Some, like Elon Musk, were excited at the prospect of a Ye presidency, while others accused the artist of pulling a stunt that will draw away votes from Democratic nominee Joe Biden.
no Kanye. I don’t have time for your shit this year Kanye. We’re not doing this. Not in 2020. We already have enough going on. No. Kanye, no. No. https://t.co/XXzmExvXVT

Of course, given this is Kanye, there’s a fair chance all of this is just a stunt to whip up hype for his new album God’s Country. He released the first single off the album, the blistering ‘Wash Us In The Blood’, last week. Still, that didn’t stop people turning the news into memes. See the best below.
