"To be frank, oftentimes this show is critical of Fox. But only because they're terrible."

If watching Jon Stewart kicking a professional wrestler in the balls wasn’t enough to make you pre-emptively mourn his departure from The Daily Show, this should definitely do the trick.

In last night’s episode, the iconic host showed a stunning return to form taking on his long-time foe: Fox News. And, while there’s nothing new about Stewart poking fun at and generally outclassing America’s most infamous news network, this particular segment has a lot of people talking for just how goddamn good it is.

In the following clip, Stewart exposes the double standards of Fox News for their treatment of both the death of Eric Garner in Ferguson and the attack in Benghazi which they’ve been having “rage-gasms” over for the past two years. His question: how can you slam the actions of protesters while ignoring a report from the Department of Justice which literally proves all of their points? Also: how can you justify it after giving years of overblown coverage to a thing which a report from another major government body has officially debunked?

Heads up: “rage-gasm” is your new favourite word.

Best bit: “Wouldn’t it be nice if people who jumped to conclusions and peddled a false, divisive, anger-stoking narrative had to apologise for misleading America?”

Jon Stewart is going to be sorely missed.
