John Mayer Has Completely Taken The Piss Out Of Gal Gadot’s ‘Imagine’ Video
Mayer dropped perhaps the funniest 'Imagine' parody so far.
Last week, Gal Gadot tried to rally the world around a cover she and her rich friends performed of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’.
And to be fair, she did unite us, in a way. Not against the pandemic, mind you. But against rich people trying to capitalise on a tragedy by singing a song about “no wealth and possessions”.
Gadot’s tone-deaf stunt has produced days of content now. We’ve had piss-takes from music fans around the country. Weirdo remixes by YouTubers. And even a fair bit of well-deserved snark from other celebrities.
But none of those are quite as impressive as the video that musician John Mayer dropped to his Instagram. In the short clip, Mayer jokes that he was invited to join the sing-a-long, but misunderstood the assignment and recorded himself humming along to Ariana Grande.
“They were nice enough to send over a cut,” Mayer says. “Take a look.”
