Last year, Flavor Flav was tricked into wishing George Pell a happy retirement through the Cameo app.

And this year, Aussie comedian Tom Armstrong has one upped the iconic Pell retirement message with a personalised shoutout to none other than serial killer, Ivan Milat.

Setting his targets on Beverley Mitchell aka Lucy Camden from 7th Heaven, Armstrong had the American actress record a personalised message for the serial killer.

Clearly absolutely clueless on Australian news and history, the 7th Heaven star started her Cameo by thanking Milat for his big heart and affinity for the “backpacker gang”. Ivan Milat, of course, notoriously murdered seven backpackers, who were hitchhiking in Sydney between 1989 and 1992.

“Hey Ivan, not many people pick up hitchhikers anymore but you really helped out with the backpacker gang,” Mitchell said. “You belong in 7th Heaven, thank you. We need more people in the world like you.”

“So Ivan Milat… I hope I said it right. Sending you lots of love and thank you again for being such a big fan and just being awesome and being you,” she concluded.

According to Beverly Mitchell’s Cameo profile, the cheeky lil’ message set back the Aussie comedian $60 USD. But honestly, money well spent in my eyes.

And as for how Armstrong managed to get the 7th Heaven actress to shout out the serial killer with such specific facts? Well, in a comment on his TikTok, Tom Armstrong explained that he “made up a story about this guy who picked us up while we were hitchhiking and [added] that he was a huge fan of 7th Heaven.”  Iconic.
