Ryan Reynolds Is In Full Proud Dad/Arch-Rival Mode As Hugh Jackman Scores An OAM
With friends like these...
Ryan Reynolds wanted to share his congratulations with friend/worst enemy Hugh Jackman this weekend, as the latter travelled to Canberra to accept his Order of Australia Medal.
Jackman was named a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours back in June.
He posted a photo near Lake Burley Griffin yesterday, writing about how he shares the achievement with his loved ones and mentors. “It is humbling to be amongst so many great Australians who have outstanding achievements in so many fields,” he said.
While celebs like Guy Sebastian Jennifer Garner shared their congratulations on Jackman’s OAM posts, Reynolds made one of his own. Of his friend and arch-rival, he wrote: “Hugh Jackman is one of the finest, kindest, hardest working, generous and most talented people I’ve had the privilege to call my friend. There’s nobody better.”
But that didn’t stop him from a final jab at our national treasure. “None of this changes the unfortunate fact he’s a complete bastard,” he added.
Jackman wrote back: “Cautiously optimistic …. That we are bearing witness to a kind and gentle @vancityreynolds 🇨🇦 PS. And then I woke up.”
The pair have a long-running social media beef/beautiful friendship based on mutual teasing. It’s hard to tell. Although considering the way Reynolds posts about his wife, Blake Lively, it’s probably the second.

Jackman also features on Reynolds’ conspiracy board – alongside Betty White and Taika Waititi – about who leaked test footage of Deadpool in 2014.
In February, Jackman and Reynolds called a truce on their internet feud. Reynolds made an earnest ad for Jackman’s social enterprise Laughing Man Coffee Company, as Jackman took another dig at his frenemy in an ad for Reynolds’ Aviation Gin.
