These Are The Tracks That Just Missed Out On The Hottest 100
Some very big songs just missed out on the countdown.
On Saturday night, British psych pop outfit Glass Animals emerged victorious in triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2020, clinching the crown with their ubiquitous track ‘Heat Waves’.
They beat out some strong local competition — with Spacey Jane’s ‘Booster Seat’ landing at #2 and Flume and Toro y Moi’s ‘The Difference’ at #3. Northern Beaches crew Lime Cordiale had a blinder, with five songs appearing in the top 30 of the countdown.
On Sunday, triple j counted down the Hottest 200 — the tracks that just missed the final cut of the main ranking. Middle Kids snaffled #101 with ‘R U 4 Me?’, while Tame Impala came in at #200 with ‘Posthumous Forgiveness’. Tkay Maidza, meanwhile, received some justice for missing out on the top 100 with her excellent track ‘Shook’ by taking out #125.
