Given that Gwyneth Paltrow is a little pre-occupied by spreading WASPy, GOOPtastic wellness through the world, it’s not exactly surprising she doesn’t seem to pay much attention to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paltrow has a habit of blanking her co-stars — and now, they’re actively making fun of her for it.

In case you need a reminder, Paltrow’s one of the MCU’s original heavy hitters, having appeared in seven films as Pepper Potts since 2008. That’s a lot of films, and, due to the way they’re filmed back-to-back, Paltrow often appears in just a few scenes.

That explains why last month she told co-star John Favreau that they weren’t in Spider-Man: Homecoming together. She probably didn’t know what film the scenes she shot were for. Plus, given how complicated it can be to follow along with the MCU, we can’t really blame her for not knowing she was in the movie.

But her Avengers co-star Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes from Captain America, is semi-jokingly calling her out on Instagram for blanking him not just once, but three times. Sharing a snap from Paris Fashion Week, Stan poses with a group of fashion greats and Gwyneth Paltrow, saying in the caption he was “also glad to reintroduce myself to @gwenythpaltrow for the third time. We are in the same film…”, adding a shrug emoji.

She hasn’t made a fun comeback yet, but the whole thing is maybe just a little too awkward. Back in June, Paltrow was caught via an Instagram Live stream of the Avengers: Infinity War premiere asking her publicist who Stan was. “Sebastian Stan plays Bucky,” he answers, “Bucky is the winter soldier.” “Oh, okay,” she answers, clearly having no idea what or who the Winter Soldier is.

Stan isn’t alone either. After the Favreau interview went viral, Tom Holland shared in an Posugar interview that it “breaks his heart” that Paltrow never remembers they’ve worked together, too. Oh well: maybe there’s a GOOP cream for that?

Meanwhile, more attentive Marvel fans are freaking out about the implications of Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s post-credit scenes. Gleam what you can from our recent interview about the future of the MCU with the head of Marvel, Kevin Feige.
