Ed Sheeran Is Copping An Almighty Roasting For His Weird ‘Game Of Thrones’ Cameo
Ed Sheeran just overtook Joffrey as Game of Thrones' most hated character.
Game of Thrones season seven hit TV screens last night and *spoiler alert* there was a lot to like. Arya finished off house Fray in absolutely brutal fashion, Sansa shut down Littlefinger with one of the most savage burns in the show’s history, and after six long seasons we finally saw Daenerys standing on Westerosi soil.
Probably could have done without that Sam poop montage though.
Another thing I could have done without was the very weird and unnecessary cameo from pop star Ed Sheeran, who appeared in a scene with Arya as a Lannister soldier.

The show has previously featured cameos from members of Sigur Ros and Coldplay, but never has it been quite this blatant or Ed Sheerany.
Based on the way the internet reacted, it seems like I’m not the only one who found it distracting.

Ed Sheeran appearing on game of thrones but not being brutally disemboweled was very disappointing

Ed Sheeran on #got is like when the Harlem Globetrotters were on Scooby Doo. It’s like what’re we doing here?

Arya: That’s a pretty song. I’ve never heard it before.
Ed Sheeran: It’s new. Buy my album ÷ on iTunes #GameOfThrones #GoTS7— Salim Stark (@SalimAlSamar) July 17, 2017
What if one of the #GameofThrones spinoffs is just Ed Sheeran and his boy band wandering around having adventures
