In all my years of news reporting, there have been few events as hilariously cooked as last year’s Fyre Festival, a luxury “cultural experience” in the Bahamas that saw hundreds of wealthy young punters stranded on an island surrounded by feral dogs, mountains of garbage, and not an Instagram model in sight. Now, 18 months and one fraud conviction later, Netflix has dropped a teaser for its new documentary about the festival, so you can experience the delicious schadenfreude all over again.

Titled Fyre, the feature-length documentary was co-produced by Vice Studios, and promises to give viewers “a first-hand look into the disastrous crash of Fyre as told by the organizers themselves”.

Rival streaming service Hulu also has plans to release a documentary series about the festival, while Seth Rogen and Lonely Island are reportedly working on a comedy set at a music festival that goes “horribly wrong”. Which is fantastic, because frankly I could listen to stories about this clusterfuck for the next 20 years and it still wouldn’t get old.

Fyre hits Netflix on January 18, 2019.
