I mean the teaser trailer that dropped yesterday was good, but it was… just a teaser. Overnight Lucasfilm released the full trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it’s given us a bunch of new goodies to analyse.

The trailer kicks off with Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) saying: “I’ve been running scams on the street since I was 10. I was kicked out of the flight academy for having a mind of my own.”

Solo is driving a landspeeder with Qi’Ra — and other than knowing that she’s played by Emilia Clarke, we’ve heard little else about her. She features heavily in this new trailer though, which is a good sign.

You can also glimpse Han Solo’s famous gold dice hanging from the roof of the speeder in the shot — the same ones, we imagine, that he ends up putting in the Millennium Falcon.

And then the voiceover’s back:

“I’m going to be a pilot. Best in the galaxy,” we hear Solo saying, before we see a short shot of the brand new Falcon. As if it ever looked that good.

We next see Solo  in a dust storm, in front of that same new Falcon — and at the top of the screen we can see two suns. Could it be Tatooine?

Throughout the trailer we see small features from the big names who will star in the movie: Woody Harrelson’s character, Tobias Beckett, tells Solo that he’s “putting together a crew” and he wants Solo and Chewbacca to be a part of it.

Thandi Newton (who’s best known for Westworld, which also had a trailer drop recently) shows up too, but we don’t yet know who she’s playing.

Before the trailer ends we get a nice little space chase — and see an absolutely massive, tentacled, disgusting cosmos octopus that Solo almost crashes into. Almost.
