With how obsessed the world has been with ‘WAP’ since its release, it’s no surprise that the raunchy song’s lyrics have now become their own obscure meme.

Despite dropping over a month ago, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s smash hit ‘WAP’ is still firmly placed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song sparked a viral TikTok dance challenge, a slew of remixes and mash-ups, and some critiques from a whole bunch of men who should not have opinions on women and their sexuality.

Now, people have begun to transform the song’s uber sexual lyrics into a way to express the saddest and most unexpected “drops” in life and on screen.

In the ‘WAP’ chorus, Cardi B raps ‘now from the top, make it drop, that’s some wet-ass pussy’, which we can only assume she says to reference the motions of riding dick. But in the ‘WAP’ TikTok challenge, people interpret the lyrics to mean a slut drop and to literally make their body drop to the floor.

So it’s clear that Cardi’s lyrics are open for interpretation, and so Twitter has decided to shy away from the sexual connotations entirely and instead use the lyrics to reference some horrifying deaths and unfortunate falls in TV, movies and real life.

Using two images side-by-side, the “Now From The Top, Make It Drop” meme shows a character before a mighty fall. Sometimes the meme can be quite literal, like with the elders cliff jump scene in Midsommar or the Parasite housekeeper tumbling down the stairs after being kicked.

Other times the meme references some of the less sinister falls characters have taken in pop culture, like when Kevin drops his giant pot of chili in The Office, or when Leslie rolls down into the pit in Parks and Recreation. Unfortunately not even real people are safe from the “Now From The Top, Make It Drop” meme, with some sharing the most iconic “drops” caught on viral video, too.

Beyond pop culture clips, the meme can also depict a person or thing at the top of their game before they take a serious tumble, like we saw when Dakota Johnson caused the downfall of Ellen Degeneres by exposing Ellen’s fake “nice” persona or when Game Of Thrones became what it became after such a promising start.

And sometimes the meme needs no explanation at all.

Long live the Wet Ass Guillotine.
