Frances Abbott, daughter of Waluigi Tony Abbott, just trolled her dad big time by expressing her support for marriage equality in a new video for the Yes campaign.

In doing so, she joins Tony Abbott’s sister Christine Forster in the hallowed ranks of Abbott family members who consistently wreck old mate Tone’s attempts to campaign for a no vote. For a guy who’s constantly bringing up “family values”, he certainly doesn’t seem to be terribly in touch with his own family’s views.

In the video released this morning, Frances talks about what it would mean to her to see her aunt Christine be able to marry her partner in Australia.

“To see Aunty Chris marry Virginia, to do it there in front of friends and family, it would be so special and I’m so, so hoping that’s what I get to be a part of,” she says. “It really just doesn’t make sense to me that it’s not allowed.”

Christine Forster has tweeted her support for the video and her niece.

We actually already knew Frances Abbott was a fan of marriage equality after she posted a picture of herself wearing a “vote yes” shirt on Instagram last week, but it’s nice to see her step up the campaign while her dad does the same. She also posted her completed survey form on Insta, though fyi Frances you forgot to cover the barcode, so maybe delete that one.

You can watch the full video below — it’s pretty heartwarming, so we’d recommend it if you’ve had it with the escalating vitriol of this campaign. And while we’re here, here’s your reminder that you should have received your survey form in the post by now. If you haven’t, it’s time to get in touch with the ABS to request a new one.
