It um, doesn't look great, but it's the thought that counts?

Eminem has donated buckets of spaghetti to Detroit health workers, in a reference to his 2002 hit ‘Lose Yourself’, where he’s vomited it all over his jumper.

More than 400 meals of spaghetti were delivered to two hospitals in Eminem’s home-city: Detroit Receiving Hospital and Henry Ford. Michigan is one of the US’s worst-hit states when it comes to COVID-19, with the third-highest state death rate behind New York and New Jersey.

The tubs of spaghetti were emblazoned with ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ branding along with a thank you to caregivers. We’ve seen this spaghetti before — while it first came to our attention in 2002  (“There’s vomit on his sweater already/ Mom’s spaghetti.”), Eminem embraced the line after it became something of a meme, opening a pop-up restaurant in 2017, and then dishing up Mom’s Spaghetti again at Coachella 2018.

The rapper, of course, isn’t cooking these himself: Detroit restaurant company Union Joints is behind it, who was involved in the pop-ups. Eminem didn’t announce the delivery, but it began to appear online after Henry Ford’s account and others said thanks via social media.

Eminem’s manager has since confirmed that more spaghetti would be delivered to care workers over the next few weeks, though the rapper’s Marshal Mathers Foundation.

Earlier this year, Eminem performed ‘Lose Yourself’ at the Oscars — a confusing booking, considering the song and 8 Mile, the autobiographical film it’s from, are 18 years old. No one was more confused than Billie Eilish.

The rapper’s eleventh album, Music To Be Murdered By, was released this January, and instantly caused controversy for lines which equated the album’s surprise drop to the 2017 Manchester terrorist bombings which killed 22 people.
