You Can Grab ‘The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind’ For Free Right Now
Everybody likes a free game, especially when said game is the most beloved entry in an incredibly beloved series.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of popular video game series The Elder Scrolls, developer Bethesda is giving away the series’ third game – The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind – for free on PC. That’s a pretty good deal.
Released in 2002, Morrowind is still consistently ranked the best game in the Elder Scrolls series. Though its graphics don’t quite hold up to today’s standards, fans remain enamoured by its detailed, complex world and sweeping soundtrack.
To grab your free game, first head to Bethesda.net and create an account if you don’t already have one. Then, once logged in, redeem the code ‘TES25TH-MORROWIND’. This will add Morrowind to your account.
You’ll have to download and use the Bethesda launcher in order to play your new game, but a mildly inconvenient free game is better than no free game at all. If it really annoys you, you can pay $9.97 to get Morrowind on Steam until April 3 – 50 percent off its usual price.
This is not Pokémon related at all, but if you are a gamer and have not experienced this game you owe it to yourself—Bethesda is giving away Morrowind III for FREE today: https://t.co/jVakgGX2D8 pic.twitter.com/4aLTcvs3bL

Set in a medieval-inspired fantasy world, Morrowind is an open-world roleplaying game that allows players to create their own character and decide their style of play. So whether you prefer to recklessly charge into battle, to strike quietly from the shadows, or to forgo combat in favour of stealing everything not bolted down like some sort of uncontrollable kleptomaniac goblin, chances are there will be something for you to enjoy.
Players also have the freedom to choose the quests they want to take and in which order, though there is a main plot to follow if you crave direction in your life.
Bethesda’s giveaway was originally only going to run for today. However, after people reported receiving errors when trying to take advantage of the offer, it has since been extended to run for the rest of the week so nobody misses out.
Morrowind will now be available for free until the end of Sunday, March 31.
