Egg Boy Just Donated Nearly $100,000 To The Victims Of The Christchurch Terror Attack
"It wasn’t mine to keep."
Will Connolly, aka Egg Boy, champion of justice and scourge of Nazi dickheads everywhere, has cemented his status as one of Australia’s greatest humans by donating nearly $100,000 to the victims of the Christchurch terror attack.
The 17-year-old burst into the collective national consciousness back in March when he was filmed egging far-right senator Fraser Anning shortly after Anning blamed Muslim immigration for the massacres at a pair of Christchurch mosques that left 51 people dead. A pair of crowdfunding campaigns were subsequently set up to pay for the teenager’s legal defence and to “buy more eggs”.
On Tuesday Connolly took to Instagram to reveal that, after wading through a considerable amount of red tape, he had donated the money from the campaigns — nearly $100,000 — to the victims of the Christchurch attack.
“After a huge amount of red tape, $99,922.36 has today been transferred to the Christchurch Foundation and Victims Support,” Connolly wrote. “For those of you who don’t know, there were 2 Go Fund Me pages set up to help cover the cost of my legal fees and to ‘buy more eggs’. Gratefully, Gordon Legal acted probono for me so I don’t have any legal fees. I decided to donate all monies to help provide some relief to the victims of the massacre… it wasn’t mine to keep.”
Honestly, what a legend.
