At this point, the 'Drag Race' universe is giving Marvel a run for its money.

Over the last few years we’ve been absolutely bombarded with Drag Race seasons as RuPaul continues his quest to dominate the world.

This is because as the success of the franchise rapidly grew in the US, so did the local and international spin-offs that have kept global Drag Race fans well-fed.

We’ve already had the uber popular Drag Race UK and Drag Race Thailand, the Brooke Lynn Hytes-led Canada’s Drag Race, the questionable Drag Race Down Under, and local productions in Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain with the Philippines and France announcing that they are following suit, too.

So it’s only natural that we are finally getting an international all-stars edition of the show to showcase the best of the best that the franchise has to offer.

While long-rumoured, the global all-stars smackdown is officially titled RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK Versus the World, and will feature nine queens from the franchise battling it out on UK soil.

“Nine international members of RuPaul’s Drag Race royal alumni will battle it out for the crown in the brand new series RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Versus The World,” reads the new series’ official logline.

“With the UK as the host nation, renowned queens from different franchises and cultures will compete in an international arena showcasing their country’s finest drag in their bid to become the ultimate Drag Race Superstar.”

“Yes, it’s real, and it’s gonna blow your mothatuckin’ mind,” World of Wonder added in their announcement post.

As the series is hosted in the UK, the judges panel will consist of UK regulars including RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton, Alan Carr, and a “sparkling array of superstar guest judges”. Fingers crossed that means British icons Emma Thompson or Adele will finally find their way to the Drag Race desk.

And while the international all-stars cast has not yet been confirmed, fans have been speculating that contestants from the UK, US, Canada, Holland and Thailand will be joining the show as a number of queens from those seasons conveniently all vanished from social media on March 16.

The current speculated cast includes UK Season 1 queens Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, and Cheryl Hole, Holland’s Janey Jacké, Canada’s Jimbo and Lemon, Thailand’s Pangina Heals, and US icons Monique Heart and Jujubee. A truly top-tier cast, if I do say so myself.

However as RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK Versus the World is set to air on BBC Three in early 2022, which means episodes will drop on Stan a couple hours later, we’re just going to have to wait to see if all the rumours are true.
