Move Over Marvel, The First Trailer For The ‘Downton Abbey’ Movie Is Here
Your NEW most anticipated movie of 2019.
Forget about Thanos, Star Wars and whatever tearjerker Pixar has in the works: the first teaser for the Downton Abbey movie just hit the web, and goddamn does it look British-y.
The teaser is pretty light on details, with no dialogue to speak of. What we do get is a series of sweeping shots of the Crawley family estate, along with a reworked version of that iconic theme. God bless the Queen! And so forth.
We already know the movie will bring back the entire season six cast, including series MVP Maggie Smith. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Gareth Neame said the film would satisfy fans while also providing something “fresh and original”.
“We wanted a kind of storyline and sense of scale and production value that exceeded even the very high production values the TV show was remembered for,” he added. “On the big screen, it just had to look a little bit more lavish and a little bit bigger and better.”
The Downtown Abbey movie hits cinemas in the US on September 20, 2019.
