Here’s Your First Look At Donald Glover And Rihanna’s New Film, ‘Guava Island’
Well, this looks wonderful.
While Donald Glover didn’t make it to Australia for his recent scheduled tour, he did manage to get to New Zealand for his Pharos Festival — and it looks like punters got a lot more than what they bargained for.
The crowd at Pharos was treated to a trailer for Glover’s upcoming film Guava Island, which co-stars none other than Rihanna.
The film is being directed by Glover’s longtime collaborator Hiro Murai (who has worked on Atlanta and clips like ‘This Is America’) and is apparently set to be released next year.
Rihanna portrays Glover’s girlfriend in the film, while actors like Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie have also been confirmed to feature. Watch the trailer below (it’s fan footage, so you’ll need to squint a little.)
Glover was forced to postpone his scheduled Australian tour last month due to a foot injury he suffered at a concert in Dallas, Texas. The tour is set to be his last as Childish Gambino.
It’s hardly the last of Glover though — just last week he was featured in the first trailer for the live-action remake of The Lion King, which also stars Beyoncé and James Earl Jones. Get around that one here.
