Everybody Is Discovering Their Dogs Love Singing Along To The ‘Law & Order’ Theme Song

Now, more than ever, we are turning to dogs in our time of crisis. And our dogs are turning to… The Law & Order theme song?

Yep, a growing number of Twitter users around the world have learnt that their dogs are obsessed with the iconic ‘dun dunnn’ opening to one of the most famous cop shows in American television history.

The clear originator of this trend is Fin, an extremely adorable German shorthaired pointer whose Instagram bio introduces him as a “Manhattanite” and Law & Order fan. And that second point is no understatement either — here he is howling his guts out to the iconic opening.

Fin does this literally every time — if you head over to his ‘Gram, there’s video after video of him howling along with the song. Sometimes, he even wakes up from a deep sleep to get involved.

And as it turns out, this trend is not localised to a single dog. Underneath the video of Fin getting involved, literally dozens of other dog owners have posted videos of their own pooches showing off their singing chops.

Here, for instance, is a Labrador pup who loves getting involved with the SVU theme.

And here’s a brace more pups doing the same.

As to why it’s that particular song that gets the dogs fired up, who knows? Perhaps there’s something about that iconic bassline that resembles the pitch and frequency of a dog’s howl? I’m just spitballing here.

Easier to understand, however, is the disapproval of cats who, unsurprisingly, hate these dogs enjoying themselves with their favourite song.

Like the old adage goes: dogs rule, cats drool.
