Disney’s CGI-heavy Lion King remake is currently recruiting voice actors, and so far things seem to be going pretty damn well. Your main crush Donald Glover is set to play the part of Simba, while James Earl Jones will reprise his iconic role as Mufasa, presumably because no actor on the planet could possibly do a better job.

Still, that’s nothing compared to who director Jon Favreau has in mind to play the lioness Nala.

Oh HELL yes!

According to Variety, Favreau wants Beyonce for the role – and he and the studio are willing to do “whatever it takes to accommodate her schedule”. The trade publication stresses that Queen B has yet to make a decision, which given that she’s currently pregnant with twins is probably fair enough.

To say fans were pretty keen on the idea is a bit of an understatement.

The Lion King doesn’t currently have a release date, although you probably shouldn’t expect to hear Bey and Childish Gambino belting out ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ until 2019 at the earliest.
