The pseudonymous Instagram account DeuxMoi has landed their very own TV show on HBO Max, so huge congrats to this anonymous individual!

According to Deadline, HBO Max has acquired the rights to turn DeuxMoi’s book — Anon Pls — into a drama series. The forthcoming book was written by DeuxMoi alongside author bestselling NYT author Jessica Goodman, and is set to be published on November 8 by a division of Harper Collins.

As for the book’s synopsis? It’s giving us distinct Emily In Paris meets Gossip Girl energy, as it follows the life of fictional assistant Cricket Lopez who starts a celebrity Instagram account on a whim. She never expects it to become anything, but as you can expect, it does become something — namely, a famous celebrity gossip account that sounds a lot like DeuxMoi. Because of the success of the page, she becomes increasingly distracted by celebrities, investors and journalists; much to the chagrin of her boss and friends.

The synopsis for the book also mentions a “steamy new love interest” who she meets through her online persona, adding, “as the account grows and becomes more and more famous, she has to wonder: is it — the fame, the insider access, the escape from real life — really worth losing everything she has?” Dun dun dunnn.

DeuxMoi’s Instagram page has amassed over 1.5 million followers since their inception in 2020, and it’s safe to say that they simply are fascinated by the minutiae of celebrity’s lives — from Taylor Swift’s love for red wine and pasta to Jennifer Aniston’s preferred coffee order.

Incidentally, Ziwe recently interviewed DeuxMoi on the second season of her late night talk show, where the self-proclaimed “curator of culture” revealed they don’t have any Black friends.
